Scottish Enterprise Innovation FrameworkR&D Plus provides a grant of up to 25% of eligible costs to large companies ie: over 250 employees. The company must be undertaking new R&D activity that builds capacity within Scotland (creating or safeguarding R&D jobs).  R&D must be in the form of either industrial research or pre-competitive development. The product is targeted towards the relationship management segment – typically account managed companies developing new products or processes to the pre-production prototype stage.

Scottish Enterprise Innovation FrameworkGrant available to SME’s ie: less than 250 employees.  The Programme offers support to eligible single company projects involving market research; product or process development, (R&D); and market launch. Aimed at new start and existing companies, high and medium impact market segments – growth pipeline companies and those with growth potential.

Half day launch event followed by company workshops at a central venue

The Innovation Awareness Workshops have been designed to provide inexperienced product and service developers with the basic knowledge that will enable them to better develop their ideas in a professional manner.

The Advanced Innovation Workshops have been designed for more experienced practitioners to take them to a higher level of expertise. Advanced tools and techniques are used and the delegates are required to take a product or service development idea forward during the course so that there is an outcome at the end of the workshop series.

Electronic Design Support Services (EDSS)Scottish Enterprise Innovation FrameworkThe aim of this product is to offer electronic design support to companies across Scotland, at all levels from first time users to experienced system designers.  The product will deliver initial advice and counselling via a technical review or feasibility study of new product ideas.  The advice provided will be supported by use of specialist technology demonstrator platforms, applicable to a wide range of applications and will include a Brokerage service that signposts clients to sources of design expertise regarding the implementation of new product designs.

Scottish Proposal Assistance Fund 

(SPAF)

Scottish Enterprise Innovation Framework

SPAF provides a grant to help applicants develop quality project proposals to submit to the European Commission's (EC) Seventh Framework Programme (FP7).  There are three strands to SPAF:

0.   Concept Development.  Helps Scottish businesses with eligible overseas travel and accommodation costs involved in project scoping and consortium building activity that is intended to result in a commitment to drawing up a detailed proposal to FP7 and, very likely, an application for support from Strand 1 or 2 (below).

1.   Proposal Development – Co-operation.  Helps Scottish businesses with the eligible costs of developing and submitting a detailed proposal to the Co-operation Theme of FP7.

2.   Proposal Development – Capacities/ People/ Ideas.  This helps Scottish businesses with the eligible costs of developing and submitting a detailed proposal to the Capacities, People or Ideas Themes of FP7.

Also available is a Contract Negotiation grant top-up.  This helps Strand 1 and 2 recipients with the eligible costs of negotiations, with both consortium partners and the EC, leading to a contract for an FP7 project.

 

Proof of ConceptScottish Enterprise Innovation FrameworkCustomers of this product are researchers, members of staff (not students) within the Scottish Universities, Research Institutes and NHS Boards.
RSE FellowshipScottish Enterprise Innovation FrameworkTarget customers are individuals with academic or industrial experience, who have entrepreneurial aspirations and a technology based business idea. The programme provides a personal development opportunity, which provides the individual with the necessary skills and business expertise to empower the individual to take forward their idea for a new product or process.
